Welcome to the i-Tree Stormwater Calculator!
Estimate long-term benefits from the impact of planting trees on both stormwater runoff quantity (volume) and quality (pollutants).
How to use it:
Select your location with a precipitation year and enter the following information:
- Land use
- Soil composition
- Impervious cover (%)
- Project years
Then, enter groups of trees with the following:
- Tree species
- Size of trees at planting
- Condition of the trees
- The number of trees in the group
The following estimates are calculated for each group of trees:
- Cumulative, first, and last year reduction in stormwater runoff volume
- Cumulative, first, and last year reduction in pollutant loading
- Nutrient (P) content in cumulative, first, and last year leaf drop for the following species for select Midwestern locations only:
- Callery Pear, Green Ash, Hackberry, Honey Locust, Littleleaf Linden, London Plane, Norway Maple, Red Maple, Silver Maple, Sugar Maple
